About me
I am a history student in Athens, widely interested in Wikipedia, politics, history, geography with aspirations for becoming a university professor. Deeply interested in social subjects and the Wikimedia movement. I am an active participant of the students' movement in Greece, participating in protests and electoral processes inside the university. My other hobbies include photography, reading, and walking. I am also an admin in Greek Wikipedia (verify), although I think that it's rather responsibilities than rights that you get if you become an admin. Linguistic skills: Native language Greek, English as semi-native language, basic German and a few grasp, although learning now, of Russian.
My work
I love to participate in the movement both in the Greek and the global one. I also participate in WMUG Greece as a member, and try to promote Wikipedia. I also work for the betterment of Greek Wikipedia by organising meetups, improving pages, and helping the users to find their path on the project. I have wrote 7,600 articles in Greek, some fifty in English, I edit Wikimedia Commons and add photos there, also doing some patrolling work from time to time in other Wikipedias. I am heavily interested on Wikipedia statistics. I have a dream: To see the developing world's Wikipedias in par with the ones of the developed world. So I collaborate for this with Wikipedians from abroad and I support developing communities. For the history, I began to contribute in 2013 in Greek (when I was nine years old), but only periodically until November 2016, when I pernamently began to contribute there. My targets are among others to continue organising Wikimedia offline and online activities, after my first outreach event in November 2023. In 2018 I had worked a lot in Translatewiki and translated more than 12,000 messages, although now I rarely contribute there due to few time available. I am also involved in the CEE Youth Group, Wiki for Minorities and now I do research and work for new projects of Greek Wikispace. Moreover I am interested and involved with governance, international partnerships, structure and strategy of the movement, as well conflict resolution.

Wikimedia events attended/will attend
- CEE Youth Group Meeting in Prague, Czechia (24-26 November 2023)
- Wikimania 2024 in Katowice, Poland through WMF Full scholarship.
- Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey, as invited speaker.
- CEE Youth meeting, Wikimania, CEE Meeting 2025 and other conferences interesting me beyond 2025...
You can get a brief introduction of myself: here, once you go in slide 20 and install the slide to see my brief introduction video, my brief introduction during CEE Youth Group presentation in CEE Meeting 2023, Tbilisi (photo here). I couldn't attend due to a reexamination of a tough course in university.
- Brief online speech in Viki Kadam which took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (19 November 2023) via online connection, together with Barbara Klen, which presented the CEE Hub. I spoke about the movement, it's importance and CEE Youth Group as most attendees were young people. It was done as one of the hosts offered the opportunity to CEE Youth Group members to come and say hi to the attendees during CEE Hub presentation.
- I also spoke in CEE Catch up with Mari Avetisyan of Armenia about CEE Youth Group, 8 May 2024.
- I had a talk with Maryana Iskander, Head of Wikimedia Foundation about Youth topics in 11 March 2024.
- I will copresent presentations on CEE Youth Group and Extracurricular Wikimedia organisations in Wikimania 2024 and CEE Meeting 2024.
Also I am working to promote Wikimedia in universities and do outreach. I try my best, however the delays are related to the practicalities of the professors I collaborate (academics have a lot of responsibilities). Moreover my plans include Women's day outreach and activities, though the attempts to do it physically didn't eventualise this year. Empowering Youth in Wikimedia is also my target.
Outreach events conducted
- Virtual webinar for Greeks in Germany (27 March 2024)
- Virtual presentation for Crete University students (11 March 2024)
- Wikipedia Lab (23 November 2023). Note that issues with my computer was the reason why it was somewhat erratic.
- Series of workshops for French philology students (1-23 November 2023)
More are being planned and proposed. I did some attempts for Women's Day workshop however we couldn't conduct them because the contacted organisations didn't approved it (lack of space). However many events are being under discussion, including a virtual webinar for International Youth Day for Nigerian Wikimedians, and various projects in my university on fall and winter 2024-25. I hope that 2025 will be the year that the Women's Day event will be finally done, which will include analysis of the gender gap and workshop.
The following event has been agreed and dates will be finalized later:
- Display of Content Translation tool and practice of English language postgraduate students on Translating articles in Greek Wikipedia (March 2025, dates to be finalized later).
Other roles
- I support Wikivibrance, and I am one of the key members in Wiki for Minorities, member of the organising team in it's conference project.
- I am also member of the organiser team in CEE Spring contest, the flagship editathon of CEE Wikipedias and one of the most significant editathons in global scale. Furthermore, I am involved in various things within the movement, particularly those youth-related and I aspire to help the Greek community to grow internally and get a better role in the Wikimedia movement in the long term.
- Together with Jan Beránek of Czechia, Comms team member for Wikimania 2024, I am co-running the CEE Youth Group Instagram page. That has allowed me to get some knowledge of the field of movement communication.
- Regional coordinator for Project Korikath, CEE region.
- I participate in the Wikimania youth program of CEE Youth Group.
- Other than this, I was member of the Programme committee in Wikimania 2024, allowing me to take an insightful overview of many aspects of Wikimania, including setting priorities and finding the submissions that attendees would like to see in a conference, something very important.
- COT member, Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2025. My duties will not be limited in a certain role, but will traverse various parts where needed, which will unfold gradually.
